As a leading technology manufacturer, our client connects organizations worldwide. With over $2 billion of sales revenue, the organization has a critical supply chain to protect its end-to-end solution offering.
Challenge
The client faced an ambitious growth strategy that required a robust supply chain that could evolve with the business. In light of recent geopolitical events, increasing regulation, and the ongoing threat of various other risks in today’s environment, the client realized the necessity of supply chain visibility and established an approach to mitigate supply chain risks.
Approach
Proxima deployed an expert team of supply chain and risk subject matter experts (SMEs) to map out the client’s Tier 1-4 value chain and develop a comprehensive supply chain risk assessment process.
Testing the new approach against several finished good products, the Proxima team analyzed the ‘Bill of Materials’ and evaluated the risks in the component categories. Our approach was validated by the client supply chain leadership team and pressure-tested by the respective category leads.
Results
Following the value chain mapping and risk assessment activities, Proxima summarized the key risks and themes at a finished good level, providing valuable mitigation insights. The client team was able to see where we had identified significant risks and a clear roadmap detailing how to effectively prioritize the risk activities moving forward.
The program elevated the importance of supply chain risk management, highlighting the key consequences of inaction. Our outputs empowered the client supply chain team to socialize the benefits / competitive advantage of a strong supply chain risk management program at an executive level.
