Alannah Byrne

Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist

When did you join Proxima, and what excited you about the opportunity?

I joined Proxima in March 2026 and was immediately struck by the welcoming and collaborative environment. There’s a real buzz across the business as we prepare for an exciting period of growth and new opportunities, and I’m genuinely motivated to make a meaningful, tangible impact across the talent function.

What is your role as Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist?

As a Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist, I manage end-to-end recruitment for a range of consulting roles across our EMEA teams. I partner closely with senior stakeholders to align on hiring goals, build strong talent pipelines, and proactively engage with the market. I’m passionate about identifying individuals who not only bring the right expertise, but also reflect Proxima’s values, while helping to position the business as an employer of choice.

What does a typical day look like for you?

No two days are the same. I’m constantly engaging with candidates across a range of levels and specialisms, supporting them through the interview process through to offer stage. Alongside this, I work closely with stakeholders and internal teams to stay aligned on hiring priorities and overall talent strategy.

My role centres on partnering with business leaders to understand evolving hiring needs and attract top talent into our consulting practice. Consulting is fast-paced and business requirements can shift quickly, so adaptability and close collaboration with internal teams are key to success.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

The people are what I love most. I’m a real people person, and I find it incredibly rewarding to connect candidates with opportunities that genuinely shape their careers. Playing a part in someone’s journey and seeing them excited to join Proxima is what makes this role so meaningful.

I’m also motivated by the impact hiring has on the business, bringing in the right people is the first step to driving growth and success. Seeing those hires thrive and contribute and even catching up with them in the office to hear how they’re getting on, is one of the most rewarding parts of my job.

What are you most proud of about working at Proxima?

The culture has been incredibly refreshing and unlike any other consultancy I’ve experienced. I also know Proxima recognise how important it is to maintain this unique culture as we continue to grow, ensuring that every individual feels heard, valued, and part of the journey we’re on.

What do you like to do when you’re not working?

I’m a big foodie, so I love exploring and trying new restaurants, or heading to farmers’ markets at the weekend with my family. You’ll also usually find me in the park with my son, making the most of any time outdoors!
