Gemma Eade

Global Head of Talent Acquisition

Where are you from/where do you live?

I’m originally from Chalfont St Peter, a small village in Buckinghamshire. These days, I’m based in Orpington, Kent, which makes the commute much more manageable, though I do hope to return to the countryside in a few years’ time!

When did you join Proxima, and what was exciting about the opportunity?

I joined Proxima on 9th March 2026, having worked here for 9 months on maternity cover back in 2014. What drew me in is Proxima’s rapid growth journey and the opportunity to represent the TA function which will play a key part in this next expansion phase.

What is your role as a Global Head of Talent Acquisition?

My role here is to build scalable talent solutions that enable Proxima to grow at speed, whilst maintaining quality and great candidate experience. I’ll be focusing my time on defining strategies that can be deployed globally and support the wider TA team to successfully attract, assess, and onboard future Proximites.

What does a typical day look like?

A typical day is very strategic, fast paced and people focused. I might start the day reviewing recruitment metrics and hiring progress across different regions to understand where we are against hiring targets. Then a large part of the day is spent meeting with senior stakeholders to understand upcoming hiring needs based on the sales pipeline, workforce planning and considering new market growth areas, to align the recruitment strategy with the firm’s priorities. Another major part of the role is leading the brilliant talent acquisition team globally. That includes team check-ins, supporting regional recruiting leads, helping solve hiring challenges and ensuring consistency in hiring standards, candidate experience, and employer branding across our regions.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

What I enjoy most about my job is the ability to shape the long-term direction of the firm through talent. It’s not just about hiring for today, we are collectively working together to think about the capabilities and skills the business will need in the future and building the plan to get there, ensuring we maintain the environment that supports high performance.

What are you most proud of about working at Proxima?

I’m most proud of the culture here at Proxima. From day one I have felt comfortable and valued. It’s very collaborative, encourages professional growth, and is driven by purpose.

What do you like to do when you’re not working?

Outside of work, I enjoy seeing family and friends but mainly their dogs. Most weekends you’ll find me going for long walks, made longer because I stop to pet all the dogs along the way. I also live for holidays in the sun or Sunday roasts.

Let’s talk.
