Irma Sadikovic

Where are you from/where do you live?

I’m originally from Bosnia and moved to St. Louis when I was two. I recently relocated to Chicago, which has been a goal of mine since graduating from college. It’s always been one of my favorite cities to visit, so being able to live and work here now feels surreal. I’m grateful to be doing what I love in a place that inspires me.

When did you join Proxima, and what was exciting about the opportunity?

I joined Proxima in June 2025! A close friend referred me after sharing how much she loved the culture and the people here. I had a feeling it would be a great fit, but it’s been even better than I expected. The team is collaborative, and there’s a great balance between getting things done and having fun. I feel lucky to be part of a company that truly values its people and encourages growth.

What is your role as a Talent Acquisition Assistant?

As a Talent Acquisition Assistant, I support candidates throughout the entire recruitment process. That includes scheduling interviews, screening candidates, sending offer letters, and creating onboarding inductions. I also work closely with Maddy, our Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist, to source candidates and help manage hiring efforts across different teams. My role is all about making sure candidates have a smooth and positive experience from start to finish.

What does a typical day look like?

Every day is a little different, which is one of the things I love most about working in Talent. I might be scheduling interviews, screening candidates, building training schedules, meeting with internal teams, or helping organize career fairs with Maddy. I also support our other global offices when needed. It’s fast-paced and dynamic, and it’s really rewarding to see the impact we’re making as the company grows.

What are the most common questions you get from applicants?

The most common question I get is about our culture. People really want to know what it’s like to work here, and I love being able to share how welcoming and supportive life is at Proxima. Our Chicago office has an open layout, which makes it easy to connect and collaborate.  My favorite feedback that I often hear from new hires after their first week is about how surprised they are by how kind and helpful everyone is.

What do you like most about your job?

I love being part of someone’s journey to finding their dream role. It’s amazing how a LinkedIn message can turn into a signed offer and a new chapter in someone’s career. I’ve been in that position myself, waiting for the right opportunity, and when I joined Proxima, I felt a huge sense of relief. Helping others get to that moment is what makes this job so meaningful to me.

What are you most proud of about working at Proxima?

I’m proud of how much Proxima genuinely cares about its people. I’ve never worked in an environment that feels so authentic and supportive. When people ask me where I work, I naturally speak highly of Proxima because it’s truly a great place to grow, both professionally and personally. You’re encouraged to learn, contribute, and be yourself, which makes all the difference.

What do you like to do when you aren’t working?

When I’m not working, I love being outdoors, walking along Lake Shore Trail, hiking, or taking photos with my camera. I also spend time with my bunnies and hang out with friends. I’m a big traveler too, so if I’m not at work, there’s a good chance I’m exploring a new city or country. It’s my favorite way to recharge!
